The 2013 Interdisciplinary Graduate and Professional Student Symposium kicked off at the Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center on Thursday, April 4, 2013, giving UC Davis graduate and professional students the chance to present their research and compete for monetary awards.
The Landscape Architecture Program hosted an event on April 19 in Hunt Hall to give eight UC Davis seniors and 11 graduate students from China a chance to pitch their proposals for developing the 44-acre Nishi Property on Davis’ south side.
A reception was held on May 8, 2013 in honor of Bill and Kay Golden’s contribution to UC Davis graduate students through their William G. Golden, Jr. and Kathleen H. Golden International Agriculture Fellowship at UC Davis.
The 2013 Graduate Studies Honors and Awards Ceremony was held on May 15 at the UC Davis Alumni Center. The awards ceremony recognizes graduate students and postdoctoral scholars for excellence in teaching and academic research.
A "Preparing For Life After Graduate School" workshop was brought to UC Davis Oct. 22-24 as a result of a joint collaboration between the UC Davis Department of Chemistry, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Math and Physical Sciences, Graduate Student Association, Graduate Studies: GradPathways, and American Chemical Society (ACS).
Josephine Moreno, Ph.D., is the new Graduate Diversity Officer for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) at UC Davis. She officially started the position October 1, 2013, however, she is no stranger to UC Davis.

On January 23, 2014, the annual lunch reception was held in honor of the William G. Golden, Jr. and Kathleen H. Golden International Agriculture Fellowship at UC Davis. Vice Provost of Graduate Education and Dean of Graduate Studies Jeffery Gibeling and four the of five fellows attended to receive Mrs. Golden as the guest of honor.
