Sacramento workshop on drafting the IMRaD

About a dozen graduate students came to the workshop to find out more about drafting the IMRaD. Dr. Rodger provided an overview of the IMRaD organization and discussed strategies for drafting each section of the paper. Rodger, who focuses on the intersection of science and writing and teaches the class Writing in the Sciences, emphasized rhetorical features and treatment of the audience as equally crucial factors to consider when aiming for publication. "Be mindful of the audience and know the journal's expectations," informed Dr. Rodger.
After the presentation, Dr. Rodger hosted a Q&A session with workshop participants who had more specific inquiries.
