Each year, the Internship and Career Center (ICC) hosts a number of Internship and Career Fairs and Internship Fairs for the student and postdoctoral community at UC Davis.

This year, interest from both the students and the employers was so high that the fall fairs were spread across two days, October 18 and 19 with 3 career fairs - two general fairs and a fair specially for master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral scholars.  

“We wanted to ensure that every student with interest in attending has the opportunity to meet and discuss employment opportunities with participating companies,” said Marjannie Eloi Akintunde, Ph.D., senior career advisor for master’s, Ph.D. and postdoctoral scholars career services at the ICC.

“Many of the employers are specifically seeking talented and motivated UC Davis master’s and doctoral students to add to their workforce,” she said. “Graduate students and postdocs just have to be sure to make themselves and their skill sets known to the employer.”

Here are just a few of the employers slated to attend next week’s Internship and Career Fairs who are looking to hire graduate students and postdoctoral scholars:

1. Genentech

Are you seeking a career in biotechnology? Genentech is a leading biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures and commercializes medicines to treat patients with serious or life-threatening medical conditions. 4. Lawrence Livermore National Labs

5. Central Valley Autism Project

Have a passion for helping individuals with developmental Disabilities? The Central Valley Autism Project serves individuals with developmental disabilities including autism, PDD-NOS, Asperger's Syndrome and many others, and they need your help to continue to serve families in the San Joaquin, Sacramento and Stanislaus Counties.

6. United States Patent and Trademark Office

Interested in the intersection of science and law? The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is the federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks. The USPTO is dedicated to protecting U.S. intellectual property rights, and they want you to join them on the cutting edge of American innovation.

7. Varian Medical Systems

10. Syngenta

Interested in sustainable food growth? Syngenta is addressing the critical challenges the world faces to achieve food security. The world’s food security depends on sustainable natural resources, healthy ecosystems and thriving rural communities.
