Continuing Graduate Student Internal Fellowship Application

The application for 2026-27 Continuing Academic Graduate Student Internal Fellowships will is open. You must submit your online application by the deadline, January 15, 2026, to be considered for these fellowships. The online application will automatically route users through a series of questions in order to determine your eligibility for each fellowship.

How to Apply:

  1. Log in or create an account to begin a new application.
  2. Review the terms and conditions.
  3. Start application.
  4. Indicate your interest by checking and briefly explaining your eligibility for each relevant fellowship. Please see the listing of fellowships here.

Required Application Materials:

  • A Statement of Purpose and Personal History Statement.
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
    •    Your recommenders must submit their letters DIRECTLY through the online system.
      • The recommender registration section is separate from the essay section and can be completed before you are ready to submit your full application.
      • A Waiver of Access form is provided within the system if your recommender requires it.
    • For continuing students, your graduate program cannot fully review your application until all three of your recommenders have submitted their letters.  Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that your three recommenders have electronically submitted their letters in a timely manner.  Do not wait until January 15 to register your three recommenders.
    • To re-send notification emails to your recommenders, visit the recommendations page on your status portal, click "Edit", and then click "Send Reminder."

Application Deadline:

All materials for the 2026-27 Internal Fellowships must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on January 15, 2026.

Time Zone Note (Crucial): Although the application system may display times in Eastern Time (ET), UC Davis will still consider your application on time as long as it is submitted by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PST).

Notification Process and Timeline:

Official notifications are sent to the email address used in your online application. Offers must be accepted or declined using the Fellowship Decision Form in Slate.

  •  The first round of notifications is emailed approximately 60 days after the January 15 deadline
  • Offers are made in multiple rounds through October 1, so your notification may take a significant time to arrive.
  • We will notify applicants who have NOT been moved forward in the process so that they may make other financial plans.
