Are you a graduate student seeking opportunities to develop essential leadership, advocacy, and organizational skills? Are you interested in gaining experience working within higher education administration? If so, consider applying for the position of Graduate Student Advisor to the Dean and Chancellor.

The Graduate Student Advisor to the Dean and Chancellor (GSADC) serves as a bridge between graduate/professional students and the UC Davis administration. The GSADC voices graduate and professional students’ concerns and perspectives on topics related to graduate education and student life with the Chancellor, Dean of Graduate Studies, other campus administrators, and staff.

This position is a 13-month appointment, starting September 1, 2026, and continuing through September 30, 2027. In September, the incoming GSADC will shadow the outgoing GSADC.  The 13-month appointment is considered a “By-Agreement” appointment with an annual salary of approximately $47,040, paid out $1,680 bi-weekly though UCPath.  During the GSADC Service Year, the student will automatically be a part of the Professors For the Future Program.   In addition, the GSADC receives a student financial support fellowship during this time for in-state tuition and fees and UC SHIP (if applicable). The following year, the GSADC receives a Dissertation Year Fellowship, not contingent upon service or employment to the university.

The deadline for applications is February 27, 2026.
