About the Program
The Designated Emphasis (DE) in Viticulture & Enology is an interdisciplinary program that provides doctoral students from various graduate groups with formalized training and recognition in this specialized field. The DE encompasses the study of grapevine biology, vineyard management, wine production, and the biochemical and sensory aspects of enology. It integrates expertise from plant sciences, microbiology, chemistry, engineering, and sensory science to address challenges and innovations in viticulture and enology.
