Graduate Student Q&A Events
Incoming Student Webinar
New graduate students always face challenges in learning their field's norms, expectations, and paths to success in their first academic quarter. The COVID-19 pandemic has made navigating this "Hidden Curriculum" even more challenging. On September 23, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs Duncan Temple Lang and Associate Dean of Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars Ellen Hartigan-O’Connor hosted a town hall webinar for incoming UC Davis students. They were joined by a panel of current graduate students and staff experts. The panel addressed questions and provide additional insight regarding the resources and services available to graduate students. Incoming students had the opportunity to submit questions in advance and live during the webcast.
Continuing Student Webinar
In August, Graduate Studies hosted a special webinar designed to support you in the continued pursuit of your graduate education in an era marked by rapid change and disruption. The webinar featured a panel of graduate students and campus leaders, including the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Associate Dean of Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars for Graduate Studies. Students were encouraged to submit questions in advance of the broadcast, and our panelists addressed questions and concerns as part of the live event. Panelist and graduate student Neetha Iyer also compiled a list of resources to share with the graduate student community.
