Tackling the difficult and sometimes lonely process of writing a dissertation or thesis? This half-day workshop will provide you with the tools needed to get started or to make more efficient progress and get done! University Writing Program faculty will discuss practical strategies for writing your dissertation/thesis including tactics for time management and organization, stages in the writing process, strategies for integrating material from sources, and techniques of maintaining momentum and a positive attitude. Topics include: •Getting it Done: Individual and Group Strategies for Overcoming Writer’s Blocks and Maximizing Your Writing Productivity •How to Effectively Manage a Large Project •Formulating, Focusing, and Developing your Research Question •Writing a Literature Review •Boosting Sentence Structure for Multilingual Writers •Resources for Building and Using Precise Vocabulary •Style and Clarity for Graduate Student Writers •And other resources to help you get started or finish up!
