Women in STEM Symposium

Thu, 04/11/2019 - 10:00am to 1:00pm
MPR, 2nd Floor, Student Community Center (SCC)
Please register: Many students struggle when deciding career paths to follow after completing their undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programs. Thinking about academic jobs in fields like science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) can also be intimidating and overwhelming. The perception of not belonging to or not being able to succeed in STEM academic positions, especially for women and underrepresented minorities, is an issue. The Women in STEM symposium will be a platform for students at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate) to meet with five female STEM leaders at UC Davis and UC Berkeley. The symposium will be a space for students to have an open conversation with female STEM leaders about their professional and personal experiences, as well as resources that helped them became successful principal investigators. Their stores will inspire the next generation of female scientists to pursue careers in STEM fields. Questions?
