Having the Hard Conversations: Communication Skills Seminar for Current and Future Managers

This seminar will cover tools and strategies for navigating difficult conversations from a managerial perspective. The event is geared towards graduate students and postdocs who are new to management or who are eager to learn how to communicate when emotions are high and fuses are low. If you are not currently in a managerial role, no problem! Come learn the skills you'll need for any future job.

Seminar format:
  • Presentation and Q&A session covering essential tools and training for communicating in emotionally charged settings.
  • Break for (free!) pizza lunch.
  • Workshop and discussion session geared towards improving communication skills.

Lunch, coffee, snacks, and beverages will be provided!

This workshop has never been offered by the Office of the Ombudsman for graduate students and postdocs. Take advantage of this opportunity!
