Student Community Center, Multipurpose Room
UC Davis’ increasingly diverse student population has accordingly diverse needs; it also offers terrific potential for rich learning experiences. Diverse groups have more robust problem solving capabilities, and classrooms that foster success broadly and inclusively will ultimately improve learning for all students, and benefit the instructor as well. This workshop allows grad student instructors to reflect on how a person’s circumstances, background and opportunities can influence their experience in a university setting, and to learn practical strategies to create a classroom that’s more inclusive and therefore more effective.
