Based onNigel Caplan’s book, Grammar Choices forGraduate and Professional Writers (2nd Edition, University ofMichigan Press, 2019), this workshop will look at grammar topics thatpresent the biggest problems for multilingual students in graduate writing,including sentence structure, noun phrases, and reporting verbs.

                                    
Instructor:Catherine Hatzakos is the Assistant Director of the UCDavis Graduate Writing for Multilingual Students program and a Lecturer in theUniversity Writing Program. She received her BA in Political Science with aconcentration in International Relations and her MA TESOL from California StateUniversity, Sacramento.  She has 20 years’experience teaching English as a Second Language and college composition at alllevels, and has been at UC Davis for the last five years.
