Professional Development

UC Davis offers our graduate students unparalleled opportunities and support related to their professional and career development.  Our nationally-recognized GradPathways program has served as a model for other graduate student professional development programs across the nation. This comprehensive program is designed to help graduate students succeed both at UC Davis and in their chosen career paths.

Our Professors for the Future program provides a unique opportunity for Ph.D. candidates to develop their leadership skills and prepare for an increasingly changing job market.

We also partner with the Internship and Career Center to provide career advising for graduate students, the annual Masters & PhD Career Symposium , and the FUTURE program.

Additional professional development opportunities include the annual Interdisciplinary Graduate and Professional Student Symposium which provides opportunities for students to share their work with the broader campus community and compete for cash prizes.  The Entrepreneurship Academies, offered through the Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, allow students to develop and hone their business and leadership skills.

We encourage all prospective students to explore these opportunities that greatly enhance the graduate student experience at UC Davis.
