Alumna Kristin Aquilino On Quest to Save the White Abalone

Kristin Aquilino is the director of the Bodega Marine Laboratory’s white abalone captive breeding program. She’s spent years investigating ways to help bring this species back from the brink of extinction. Last year, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration honored Aquilino for her work with the Species in the Spotlight Recovery Hero Award.

After years of planning, UC Davis is renovating historic Walker Hall into the long-awaited Graduate Center, which will accommodate a variety of services and organizations for UC Davis graduate student and postdoctoral scholars. Members of the campus community have been taking photos and videos of the project's progress, but one UC Davis staff member has documented the transformation by putting pen and paint to paper.

UC Davis Grad Student Maci Mueller Chosen to Help Global Food Initiative

Two University of California graduate students have been selected by UC Agriculture and Natural Resources as UC Global Food Initiative (GFI) fellows for 2018-19. Graduate students Melanie Colvin at UC Berkeley and Maci Mueller at UC Davis will work with ANR academics and staff to conduct and communicate about UC research for improved food security and agricultural sustainability.

Graduate Admission Application Open Starting September 12

The UC Davis online graduate application for the 2018-2019 academic year is now open. A leader across a wide variety of academic disciplines, UC Davis offers professional schools in business management, education, law, medicine and nursing, and is the only UC with a school of veterinary medicine.
